"I don't know why you say goodbye I say hello."

But, in this case, I'M the one saying goodbye.

I never thought I'd have to do this, but I'm closing this blog. Not because of any of you, Lord no, you all have been so amazing <3

It's school. Ugh, well, I guess the job of being an author isn't just going to be handed to me, now is it?

Bye everyone. I will miss you all so much.

Every.Single.One.Of.You.
Even the ones who don't comment on my posts OR read them, just coming here to my little slice of the Internet means just so much to me.

Thank you, so very much.

Shut Up and Let Her Go

I sat down on the sidewalk outside of AGPPA after school.
"Hey." Brett greeted, throwing his bag down and sitting by me.
"Hey Brett." I smiled and fixed the hat that was resting on my head.
"So how was your day?" He asked me, like he always does.

Before I could explain my day, I saw Callie running from Chris.
"Oh my God." Was all I could say.

As she came closer to me, she spotted Brett and I and began running faster, screaming "HELP!" as she did.
Brett opened the doors of the school and she ran inside and had trouble catching her breath.

"Callie are you okay?" I asked.
"Chris follo-" She began but Chris' arm grabbing hers and pulling her cut her off.
"LET HER GO!" I yelled, jumping on him.  Chris' grasp on Callie weakened and she fell down.
I began slapping Chris silly while Brett helped Callie up.
"YOU JERKFA-" I yelled, but then..........

He kissed me.

I immediately pushed him off and slapped him again.
"STAY THE HECK AWAY FROM ME AND MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY." I warned, then stamped out of the school, Callie and Brett following close behind.

But still... He......Kissed me.

Sneak Now

"Sapphire." Chris and his hazel eyes greeted me.
"Chris." I nodded.
"Why are we in the Choir room?" He asked, looking around.

Because my sisters and friends hate you, I mentally confessed.

I paused.
"A surprise?" I asked.
"Well, as long as no one sees me in here, I'm okay." He said, covering up the clear part of the door.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because, Chorus is lame." He stated like it was obvious.
"No it isn't! Have you ever been in it?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"No, but have you seen some of the kids in there?" He asked, shuddering.
"My friends are in there. And you know what, they were right about you. You're
a JERK!" I yelled as I pushed him out of the choir room and slammed the door behind me.

I sighed and sat down at the piano.

"You didn't have to do that." A soft voice said.
I jumped 50 feet in the air.
My head immediately was spinning around to look for the voice's owner.

Finally, a tall figure came out of the shadows. He had chocolate brown hair and big sea green eyes.

Who was this kid?

"Um, no offence or anything, but who are you?" I asked, returning behind the piano.
"I was about to ask you the same thing." He smirked.
"I asked first." I retorted.
"Fine, you win." He put his arms up in defeat.
"I'm Brett Williams." He smiled.
"I'm Rita Pilchard, it's nice to meet you, Brett." I grinned, putting out my hand so he could shake it.
"It's nice to meet you too, Rita." He grabbed my hand and shook it.
"Why are you in here?" I asked.
"I heard that the Chorus is having some try-outs and I wanted to audition." He
smiled.
"Oh cool! I'm in here because of... well yeah, him." I narrowed my eyes when I
thought of Chris.
"Was what he said true?" Brett's green eyes were sparkling.
"No. I mean, I'm fairly new here, but everything Chris Jenkins says is a blatant lie." I sighed.
"Oh, so were you going to audition too?" He asked.
"Oh no. I couldn't sing if my life depended on it." I laughed.
He laughed along, but began eyeing a guitar.
"Can you play the guitar?" He asked.
"Yeah, why?" I asked.
"Can you help me go over my audition song one last time?" He asked.
"Sure" I nodded, then picked up the electric guitar and nodded for him to play.
"WAIT!" I shouted.
"What?" He snickered.
"Don't laugh at me!" I giggled.
"You were really loud." He began full out laughing.

Now, I just met this kid, and I already knew that his laugh was contagious,
because in a matter of seconds, I was rolling around laughing my face off.

"But what did you want to know?" He asked, calming down.
"Ooh" I wiped a tear from my eye. "What song are you singing?" I asked.
"Misery by Maroon 5." He said.
"Cool! Is there a story behind it?" I asked. Almost every song that is sang in that choir room has some history behind it.
"Oh, just my girlfriend. I love her to death, but she's just becoming unbearable." He sighed.
"Aw, that sucks. I'm sorry. I hope it works out between you two." I smiled.
"Thanks, Rita." He smiled, then nodded for me to start playing the guitar.

"Oh yeah!" He sang.
"So scared of breakin' it, but you won't let it bend. And I wrote two hundred letters I will never send." He sang flawlessly.

I'm pretty sure I wasn't hitting the right notes on the guitar. I was too mesmerized by his voice.
Wow. That kid was good.

"Sometimes these cuts are so much deeper than they seem." He pointed to imaginary cuts on his arms.

"You'd rather cover up, I'd rather let them be." He put one foot in front of the other and spun around.
"So let me be, and I'll set you free." He put his arms out like he was a bird.

"I am in misery. There ain't nobody who can comfort me." Brett shook his head, causing his hair to move side-to-side.
"Oh yeah!" I sang.
"Why won't you answer me?" He acted like he had a phone.
"The silence is slowly killing me." Then he fell to the ground and acted like he was dead.

I laughed out loud at that.

"Girl" He jumped up to his feet.
"You really got me bad, you really got me bad." He nodded while singing and dancing.
"Now, I'm going to get you back, gonna get you bad." He acted like he had an evil plan and put both hands together and smiled mischievously.

Apparently he felt like skipping the second verse, because he jumped right into
the bridge.

"Say your faith is shaken." He shook.
"You may be mistaken." He put his arms out and shrugged.
"You keep me wide awake and waiting for the sun." He pointed outside.

"I'm desperate and confused." He rubbed his forehead.
"So far away from you." He pointed me, I smiled.
"I'm getting there. I don't care where I have to go." He motioned for me to go join him. I put the guitar down and we finished the song a Capella.

"Why do you, do what you do to me, yeah." I sang.
"Why won't you answer me, answer me yeah." He replied by singing.
"Why do you, do what you do to me, yeah!" I framed my face with my hands like Madonna.
"Why won't you answer me, answer me, yeah!" He mirrored my dance moves.
"I am in misery!" We harmonized.
"There ain't nobody who can comfort me" He sang solo and spun around.
"Oh yeah!" I sang, jumping up on the piano.
"Why won't you answer me?" I sang.
"The silence is slowly killing me." He ducked down to the ground.

He jumped up and pulled me off the piano and spun me around.

"Girl you really got me bad!" I sang.
"You really got me bad." He acted like a girl and flipped imaginary hair behind his shoulder.
"I'm gonna get you back." I nodded while singing.
"Gonna get you back." He picked me up and spun me around, then set me down.
"Girl! You really got me bad." He sang.
"You really got me bad." I sang, then did a cartwheel.
"I'm gonna get you back." He sang, then did a fail of a cartwheel.
"Gonna get you back." We both sang while he got up and grabbed my hand and spun me around.

"You're a really good singer and dancer." I complimented.
"Thanks Rita. You're not bad yourself." He smirked at me.
"Oh shut up, I'm awful." I laughed.
"No, you were actually really good. Oh and Rita?" He asked.
"What?" I asked.

"Madonna called, she wanted her dance moves back." He smirked.

We're going to be great friends.

Nothings Gonna Change My World..

Or will it?

"Rita." Callie breathed, she had just run from her locker all the way to mine, which is 2 hallways away.
"What?" I asked, terrified, ever since my sister, Prudence, has been in a coma, I'm starting to think that I'm the 'bad-luck-charm' of the Randomly Retro Girls.
"Guess.WHAT." She breathed heavily.
"What?" I asked.
"Karaoke.Today.At.Lunch." I gave her a water bottle from my locker and she took it and gulped it down in less than thirty seconds.
"Really? Cool!" I smiled, singing isn't my thing. Heck, music really isn't my thing, I have a passion for writing. Music is for Molly, Charity, Chrissa, and..........

Prudence.

Bad luck charm. My inner voice scowled.

I shook it off, just in time for Callie to respond.

"Yeah..." She looked one way.
"But, you're in Chorus! You LOVE music, don't you?" I asked, confused.
"Yeah, but I love listening to music more. Which is why I'm not going to." She explained.
"Oh, well you'd be awesome at it. But it's your cho-" I was cut off.

"Sapphire." A voice interjected.
I saw Callie's face go sour, so I turned around.
"Oh hey, Chris!" I smiled, greeting the boy whom I had met on the first day.

We haven't talked much since then.
"Where are you going?" He asked, his big bright hazel eyes sparkled.
"Oh, History. Ugh." I rolled my eyes. I felt Callie's eyes burning into the back of my own.
"Good luck. I heard Henderson's giving out a HUGE test today." He informed me.
"Oh joy." I sighed.
"Well, good luck Sapphire. Catch ya later." He shot me a smile then walked away.

I looked in his direction, unsure of how I felt for him.
Do I like him? Is he my friend?

I was just about to answer that question when.
"MARITA KENLEY PILCHARD!" Shot through my ears.
I jumped then turned my attention to Callie.
"Shout louder, I think they didn't hear you in CHINA!" I retorted.
"Do you know who you were talking to?" She asked.
"Yeah, Chris. He's my friend." I smiled.
"No, that's Chris Jenkins. The school jerk. Each semester he finds one new girl and acts like he's her friend and gets her to fall in love with him. But what ends up happening is that she gets caught up in this crazy unrequited love situation, and dies alone housing 29 cats." Callie explained.
"I highly doubt ALL of that happens. Especially the 29 cats part." I rolled my eyes, shutting my locker and beginning the path toward History Class.
"Well, most of it happens." Callie appeared at my side again.
"Well, it won't happen to me." I stated.
"Oh Rita, poor, stupid Rita." Callie began.
"Feelings!" I intervened.
"You're just his type, the type that he destroys, that is." Callie patted my shoulder.
"Callie, Chris is my friend, and friends don't hurt their other friends. Okay?" I asked.
"Sure, but promise me one thing?" Callie asked.
"What?" I asked back.
"When he breaks your heart, I get to hit him with a bus." Callie said, then walked away, not caring for an answer.

I just rolled my eyes and walked into History.

Chris won't hurt me. He doesn't seem like it.

Well either way, something HAS changed my world, sadly.

Here we go......

When All Else Fails

"FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!" I hopped on my bed and yelled.

Monday was, in fact, my first day of school at AGPPA.

And.I.Was.Excited.

I had the PERFECT outfit planned, I knew EXACTLY where all of my classes were, I had Callie and Cindie in all of my classes, and it felt like a good day.

My outfit was Julie's Calico Dress. Boots and all, just not the bandanna.

I got dressed, ate breakfast, got ready and headed out the door and towards my first day of school.

[-:-]

-LAST PERIOD-

Today was a disaster.
Lunch sucked, none of my teachers can pronounce my name right, all the kids seem to hate me, I got a hole in my shoe, and it's snowing.

And now, I was late.

To MATH.

I fixed my curls, and headed from my locker to Mr. Johnaldson's class.

Oh look,
it's on THE OTHER END OF THE SCHOOL.

Here we go again. I thought in my mind and rolled my eyes.

I grabbed my books and pretty much ran to the other end of the school.

I looked at the clock, wow! I might actually make i-

BAM!

"Oh! I'm so sorry!" I apologized, looking up at the person I ran into.
"You better watch where you're going, next time." The other person warned.

He had hazel eyes and light blond hair. He was wearing a grey hoodie jacket and blue jeans with tennis shoes.
I blinked my eyes.

Just another pretty boy, Rita. Nothing to waste your time on.

"Gee thanks." I growled, then picked up my books and left.
"Wait!" He said, running after me.
"Where are you going?" He asked, his hazel eyes were light and right then, they were shining.
"Mr. Johnaldson's class. " I sighed, struggling to hold up the heavy weight of the Math book.
"Do you need help?" He asked, looking at my struggle.
"I can handle it by myself, thank you very much. But thanks, I guess." I sighed, finally getting the book to look normal in my hands.
"Well, you're welcome. I guess." He added, mocking me.
"Wow, what are you like seven?" I asked, rolling my eyes.
"No, Sapphire." He sneered.
"What's that supposed to mean, Sapphire?" I asked.
"You're eyes are Sapphire blue. Duh." He rolled his eyes.
"Duh? Don't girls say that?" I asked.
"Yep. Boys too." He said.
"Well, you don't seem like a boy. Just a very ugly girl." I snapped.
"Ooh, touchy." He put his hands up.
"Well, lookie here, I'm here and.." I looked at the clock. "Five minutes late. Thanks......." I trailed off, wondering if he ever told me his name.
"Chris Jenkins." He said, cooly.
"Rita Pilchard." I replied.
"Well bye, Rita." He waved, then left.

I looked in his direction, and I watched him leave.

I was confused.

"Ms. Pilchard! Do you realize you are fi-" Mr. Johnaldson said, storming out of the class.
"Sorry, I got lost." I lied.
"Oh, well, come on in!" He smiled, then held open the door for me.

School might not be so bad after all?

Arrival

"Here you are." A lady said.

I was in a Brown Shipment box, on the way to one Melanie's house.
She picked up my box, which contained me and a couple of outfits, and walked to Melanie's doorstep.
She placed me down ever so slightly then left.

The butterflies in my stomach multiplied.

"OHMYGOD!" A stuffy voice yelled, then picked me up and took me inside.

"RITA RITA RITA RITA!" The voice screamed.

She's a spaz..........

AWESOME!!!

She got a knife, opened the shipment box, opened all of the outfits, then picked me up.

I went face-to-face with a smiling girl with light brown hair in a bun and pretty blue eyes. I smiled.

Melanie.

"Hi Rita!" She smiled, then began to open me.

-;-

"LOVELY RITAAAAAA METERR MAID!" Melanie screamed. She was home alone, she was sick, and she was ecstatic for getting me.

I was placed by a doll with Long platinum blonde hair and chocolate eyes, a doll with grey eyes and wavy brown hair, a doll with short black hair with red highlights and brown eyes, and a doll with curly brown hair and hazel eyes.

"Rita?" The blonde girl asked.
"Is it you?" Grey eyes asked.
"I think it is!" Hazel eyes smiled.
"Me too!" Red highlights exclaimed.

"H-h-hi, I'm Rita Pilchard" I stuttered.
"RITA!" They all exclaimed and hugged me.

I soon learned that the girl with the blonde hair is Julia and is HILARIOUS!
The girl with grey eyes and wavy hair is named Molly, and she's got MAJOR talent.
The girl with red highlights is named Jess and she has pretty much been EVERYWHERE!
Finally, I learned that the girl with curly hair is named Becca, who is kind of a snob, but means well.

I have other sisters too! I'm the thirteenth doll! I feel so special. I always wanted to have a bunch of sisters, and now... Here I am!

LOVELY RITA HAS ARRIVED!

They Love Me

"DONE!" I exclaimed. I finished my math homework.

Note to Rita;

MATH ISN'T YOUR FRIEND.

"QUICK EVERYONE WORKERS! GET INTO YOUR BOXES!" A blonde doll yelled to everyone.

The factory went into hysterics.

I, already sitting in my box, just put on the lid and took everything inside it.

A worker walked down and put a piece of paper on 4 dolls.

"Huhm" He said, looking at all of the #33's.
"Where's this Rita?" He asked.

My.Heart.Skipped.A.Beat.

"Oh here!" He exclaimed, picking up my box.

My eyes bulged open.
I cracked the top open and looked out for Sonny, Kenna, Annie, and Mikayla.

They started running after the man.
"WHERE ARE YOU GOING?" Sonny yelled.
"I THINK I'M GETTING ADOPTED!" I exclaimed.

They all stopped.
I stopped too.

Did.I.Just.Say.I.Was.Getting.Adopted.?

Me, Marita Kenley Pilchard, the unadoptable.

GETTING ADOPTED?

They all started cheering.

"RITA! RITA! RITA!" They chanted.

Sooner or later, everyone in the whole factory started chanting MY name!

I waved to everyone.
"RITA! Stay true to yourself out there in the real world, alright?" Sonny asked.
"And Tell Melanie that we're still here!" Kenna added.
"And don't forget to write on your blog EVERYDAY!" Annie smiled.
"Don't forget us! Sure, you're going to a home and all, but remember," Mikayla trailed off.

"WE LOVE YOU MARITA PILCHARD!" They all chorused.

I blinked back tears.

"I love you too!" My voice cracked.
The man turned the corner and opened the doors and all the views of the factory were gone forever.

MELANIE!
HERE.I.COME!
